B A C K S T O R Y _

Picture taken in our room in the Renaissance Parc 55, San Francisco.
Actually, it's two photos, taken with the timer to cut down blur.
Camera was stacked high on pillows on a coffee table on the bed.
Yes, we actually hauled the coffee table onto the bed for this :)

First shot's lighting was for me, from the glow of the lamps in our room;
some partially covered with jackets, some laid on the ground etc.
Second shot's lighting was for the city in the background.
One lamp in a far corner of the room to cut down the glare on the glass.

And then it's just a bit of Photoshopping. Keyed in the right background,
tilting+cropping, colour-stripping in channels, levels, sepia. Et voila.

Much thanks to Nico for your patience that night with the lighting;
and to Jackie for the editing and revealing yet more PS secrets to this n00b.

The framing looks lovely, two frames inside one with differing background near the edges, I like that a lot. The lighting of the lamp and the city lights is wonderful, very dreamy and soft. The sepia tone is perfect, it suits the style of furniture and photo as a whole, it's really classy. You look beautiful, Katie. And congratulations on your recent engagement. :heart:
