I love the feeling in this artwork. The mood is haunting and fairytalish. The colours are very convincing I really feel like I'm in a lake. I would like more light and shade action though, I get the feeling you don't have anything 100% white, it could be the scan but in that case I suggest you use photoshop to adjust it using "levels". Also, you don't seem to trust the medium but need to contain it- I would suggest you try to keep the feeling and mood and then dare to go bananas with the colours. Watercolour are magic, if you let them roam free they can create wonders, and along with your beautiful sense of composition it can become pure love!
You know, I've always wondered what triggered such a dramatic change (for the better) in your style. These two works are several months apart yet the differences are... incredible! What was it? Acquiring better materials in terms of quality, more time spent on each work or just a sort of insight that made you realize where you went wrong?
It's really just NEVER STOPPING that pushes me. I learn something new with each and every new painting, and I apply that knowledge as I go along. Acquiring better materials also helps. It's nice to not have to fight with my tools, which is very rewarding. Also I've learned to never rush, and that what ever I don't take the time in doing, it will ALWAYS, ALWAYS show.
In fact, for this concept, I plan on redoing it. "Sea Wings" as it should have been
