Artist's Comments
CommentsThis is a bit darker in appearance than your other pieces... but in constrast, I find it a lot more calming. So far this is definately my favourite piece of yours you have done... I'm a fan of darker (in colour) pieces.
I adore the detailing you've put into the hair and I just love the aurora detailing. Simply beautiful. I just love this -- Hannibal, as in THE Hannibal movie ?
-- Wow, that is an absolutely magical piece. I love her facial expression and how soft and subtle her skin and position is!
-- Striding gracefully over gray gravel grim Glory is baptized in the misty waters of Llyn Endrede rides the Winds of Din Screaming away the grasping hands of Sin Does Dinah approach with the scales? -From "Harp of Eudoxia" (a poem I wrote.) This is simply amazing. Your style is so beautiful, the contrast of colors is fantastic. The watercolors are expertly handled, and the splatters make for a great texture that makes the piece so appealing to the eyes. The hair is lovely as well! I love your art so much.

-- Love that lives in the heart cannot be so easily terminated by time. Even though the encounter is brief its impression shall last a lifetime. No one can change the direction of love that lives in the heart. If you have loved that in itself is the answer. OH my Gosh! Vide cor meum ("look at my heart")...that aria is one of my faves...
Your piece has another feeling when watched while listening to that aria.... Fantastic representation of the night and aurora vorealis...isn't she more like Nix the goddess of the night?... -- "Without deviation from the norm progress is not possible." Frank Zappa |

Critiques
As for the shape, I love these sinuous lines you've picked to represent the woman. The hair floating in the space as if she was drowning into emptiness. The tear coming out of her eye looks to me as a representation of pain and sadness, but at the same time you drawn a big tear and used a dark shade of blue for it as to give more attention to it, and that sort of make me think about it as a request of help of the woman.
I don't know why but each time I look at your painting I always need to find a meaning into them and I can spend hours looking at them without getting bored!
Amazing artwork as always Katie.
The technique and the impact is without words amazing and your originality and vision of such a musical master piece is incredible and out of this world !!!
