Broken melodies
No more singing
No more laughing in the sun
...
Only time will go on
River has its end
Our light was blown by the wind
River of Crystals
Music by Kenji Kawai
It seems that without even conscious intention, I made this for the song, tying in with the theme I love so well, yet have tried time and again to portray with less than favourable outcomes:
We weep for a bird's cry,
but not for a fish's blood.
Blessed are those with a voice.
Also interesting is that self portraiture was not envisaged for this either, however the reference photo that my husband took of me had a certain look that I couldn't ignore, and ultimately, and I say this with deep humility... it just felt right.
I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did during its creation. This is the first of what I hope to be a very expansive android series, some of which will be revisiting earlier pieces.
Thank you so much for lookingand thank you again Sam ^sphilr and my husband `zerocomplex for your patient guidance.

I love the heaven like, bright background (I think that is, what makes the picture so calm. And the girls pose! ) and how clean everything is drawn! Not only the Outlines are done very clean and unique, also the coloring job seems so smooth and just right!
I am not very good in interpreting pictures and I dont know the song but 'broken melodies' just fits as a title. When you see the girls body- and facial expression then she seems broken. She doesnt seem depressed or sad but her opened mouth shows a choked scream and how she folds her arms shows a broken mind. Her eyes seem very hopeful and I like that alot!
She does show alot of emotions, not only with her face which is unique and beautiful. I simply love the whole picture and could probably look at it for hours!
This piece, however, has somehow opened my eyes to your entire gallery in a way no other piece has before. Perhaps it's the faraway look you've managed to capture so well, or the sense of movement and wind in her flowing hair and the floating / falling flowers. The fish provides that surreal element I've always come to expect from you and which previously I was confused by, I can now just enjoy as 'part of the ride'. Whatever it is though, I find myself consistently coming back to this piece and marvelling at it, and more recently I've gone through many of your other pieces and noted not just the technical ability but also the emotions that they stir in me.
Somebody once told me that great art is often like a symphony; at first glance it may not be what you expect or enjoy, but the complexities enable one to revisit, review and ultimately grow as an individual.
