CommentsI love making stencils, they're so much fun. The flowers were a bit tricky to cut out though with my primitive blade, though it worked out in the end

the colours you used in this piece blend and work so well with the emotion that it evokes. It is as if the subject is at one with nature. The tree and bird everything. Now maybe it is my imagination working here (believe me I have a vivid one), but I see the fans as her wings in a metaphoric perspective. They pop in this picture and underline the idea of a bird. She reminds me of a spirit that brings the beauty into the nature surrounding her. Not too sure if my interpretation is correct, forgive me if it is off, but however I look at this piece, it is a true pleasure.
Bravo!

The quiet authority of that Hirschfeldian line, the watercolor's embrace of the swells and hollows of human skin-- balance and counter balance of branches and human limbs climaxing in the supple grace of that right hand and its bird-like grasp-- the subtle transparency of those yellow fans... all of these elements fall together into a dance so naturally composed that the mind has to play catch-up to the heart, which sees it all in an instant... snowmask's fluent and multi-hued language of the heart.
